I have been looking forward to spring break for some time now. It’s not that I’m going someplace warm to run around with a bikini and a beer for a week. It’s that…well…I needed a break. A lot of things have really been stressing me out, so it’s nice not to have to go to class and extracurricular meetings for a full week.
I’ve picked up some shifts at work, so I’ll have a little bigger paycheck next week. I’ve been catching up with the current fiction bestsellers, so my mind has had a nice break from Chaucer in the original Middle English (Jodi Picoult’s Change of Heart is a tearjerker…). I’ve been moving along the wedding plans: we even stayed in a jeweler for more than thirty seconds!
Best of all, I’ve been cleaning:
This is my personal space in the apartment. It’s where I knit, read, do homework, read blogs: everything. However, it’s been covered in a mountain of clothes and stuff on its way to other rooms for the past several months. Tonight I had a chance to really clean our bedroom, so now I have my spot back and I’m not giving it up easily! Cleaning was made even better by catching up on my Lime & Violet podcasts.
I have also been knitting over break. I’ll share more about that later, but I’m making lots of progress. In particular, I’m almost done with my project for the Ravelry College Knitters Swap. Oh, and I’m going to break out the sewing machine soon! Normally I really dislike sewing, but lately I’ve really been itching to get back into it. Luckily, I have a couple bags to line and some unfinished skirts that I can work on. Maybe I’ll share some photos of my other craft as well.
