A Drizzly Day in Hayward

August 21, 2010

Yesterday’s forecast was looking pretty wet, so we packed up and headed into town for some shopping. Hayward, WI has a cute downtown area with plenty of shops to keep us occupied on a rainy afternoon. We picked up some fudge and old-fashioned candies at a sweet shop, I found a gift for Sweetie, and my sister was able to raid an olive oil bar at the kitchen shop. We also hit quite a few thrift stores. In addition to picking up a few paperbacks that I’ve been meaning to read and the Taj Mahal Puzz 3D, I found this fabric:
The blue fabric is about 3 yards of a lightweight polyester that will become a blouse or a dress, and the flower fabric is a home dec remnant that will likely become a project bag (or several–it’s a long, thin strip).

Between the drive into and out of Hayward as well as some evening cabin knitting, I made some decent progress on Sweetie’s Cobblestone.
I haven’t taken a measurement yet, but I’m at least 6″ into the 18″ body. Sweetie is so tall and thin that I’m knitting the smallest directions for width and the largest directions for length!
