Braggin’ on my Little Sis

December 11, 2010

May I take this post to totally brag about my little sister? Thanks.

This is her outfit for this year’s Make It With Wool contest. Above you can see the gorgeous coat that she made by adapting a vintage costume pattern. This coat really stretched her construction skills, as there was only a single paragraph of instructions. I’ve been trying to convince her for a while now that she should really make one for me, too. You know, since she’s already figured out the pattern and everything.

Underneath she has a cute vest and pants along with a blouse that my mom made for her (competitions garments have to have a certain amount of wool fiber content to be eligible). The whole outfit fits her so well, and I love the deep brown color on her. We’re so proud of her for winning her division at state and can’t wait to see how she does at nationals in Reno this January!

The acorns don’t fall too far from the tree. You are BOTH soooo talented.
