100th Post & Pop Up Paws

March 30, 2009

This is my 100th post. Isn’t that neat? It’s taken me over two years to get to 100 posts since I’ve posted very sporadically at some points, but I’m happy that I’ve kept this blog up and running. Hopefully the 200th post won’t take quite as long to arrive.

Leave me a comment, will you? I’ll be having Sweetie select a random commenter to receive a little something nice. Be sure to include your email.

The Pop Up Paws are done. Early!
I finished these up today in celebration of turning in my essay and hearing approving remarks from my advisor when I told her my GRE scores. Today was a big knitting for relaxation day and these were the main project.
Have you seen the radar? We haven’t seen the last of winter yet. There’s a storm heading this way that got me out of a seven a.m. shift tomorrow morning. Because of the storm, the birthday boy got his gift a few days early. He might need them while he’s out shoveling!
They seem to fit and he seems to like them, so everyone’s happy.
Pattern: Pop Up Paws by Mary Dockman
Yarn: a little over a skein of Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride Worsted in M-04 Charcoal Heather
Needles: US 3 & 5 bamboo dpns
Made for: MBDPE
Timeline: March 20-30 2009
Modifications: I may have lengthened it in some parts. He has long fingers.
Worst Part: Weaving in the ends on the fingers. Although it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.
Best Part: The finished product. They will be toasty warm and appear to fit him well. I think he’ll get plenty of use out of them.

Congratulations! Those are definitely going to come in handy with the snow that we’re expecting. So far so good though, it has held off through the night. I am definitely ready for spring and not anxious for another bout of winter. Keep posting, I love reading your blog!

Those mitts look great!! So cozy! Congratulations on the 100th post! I don’t always have time to comment since I read from work (ahem), but I read all your posts! Hope your winter is over soon!

I feel so lucky that it’s already spring where I am, but now seeing your mitts, a bit jealous that it’s not winter for just long enough to knit some and wear ’em!

Cheryl, love ’em! I aspire to someday be half the knitter you are!

I miss seeing your work in person in the knitting club, but I’m so happy to be able to follow you here. Stay warm up there for me!

I was thinking of you on the way home as I heard that the North Shore got a pretty good dumping of snow today. So far not much here in the TC except for an early hard snow that melted immediately but felt like you were getting pelted by snowballs it came so fast.

Congratulations on blog post 100! And the paw are awesome!

Happy 100! Those mittens are super cute. I do love convertible mittens. I have a pair of fingerless mitts that sometimes are fabulous and sometimes I wish and wish they had tops. Such is life.

Congratulations on the 100 posts. Hope the next 100 will follow in good speed.
The mittens look great and I’m sure will be really handy in the cold weather out there. I like that little caps for when the fingers need to be covered. Very clever !
